Post-Doc position in Neuroplasticity of Motor Systems // Glover Lab, Oslo, NW

Profile :

 PhD in neuroscience or other appropriate field
 Experience in optical or electrophysiological approaches
 FELASA C or equivalent certification for animal research
 Fluency in written and spoken English

Position : The postdoctoral/research fellow will conduct experiments in transgenic animal models and in vitro cellular models to investigate the role of perineuronal nets (PNNs) in neural plasticity after injury. Methods will include optical and electrophysiological recording, immunohistochemistry, and classical and virus-mediated tracing techniques. Experience in basic molecular biology techniques will be considered positively.

The Lab : The position is in the Laboratory of Neural Development and Optical Recording (NDEVOR), headed by Professor Joel C. Glover, physically located at the Institute of Basic Medical Sciences at the University of Oslo and affiliated with the Norwegian Center for Stem Cell Research at the Department of Immunology and Transfusion Medicine, Oslo University Hospital. The position has a duration of 3 years and will be supervised directly by Professor Glover (joel.glover@medisin.uio.no)
