2 Post-doctoral position in Mohamed Trebak lab, Puttsburgh, PA, USA.

Summary:

2 post-doctoral positions available to study calcium signaling in the processes of remodeling, growth, migration, metabolism and gene regulation, and how changes in ion channel expression and function contribute to cancer progression and to vascular and airway pathophysiology in models of vascular injury, hypertension and asthma. The prospective candidate will have the opportunity to learn state-of-the-art techniques such as advanced fluorescence microscopy, in vivo imaging, patch clamp electrophysiology, proteomics and transcriptomics, and other molecular biology and biochemistry techniques. Previous experience in either patch clamp electrophysiology, imaging, mitochondrial biology, metabolism, Biochemistry, mice models of disease or ion channel signaling is highly preferred, but all candidates will be considered. Our lab is located in Vascular Medicine Institute (VMI) of the University of Pittsburgh-School of Medicine. VMI has strong commitment towards career development of young investigators in the field of cellular signaling.

Requirement:

Strong written and verbal skills in English are essential. PhDs from Cell Biology, Bioengineering, Biophysics, Biochemistry, Physiology, Immunology, Pathology and Molecular Biology who aspire to establish themselves as independent investigators are highly encouraged to apply.
