Post-doctoral position at the Universidad de Valladolid

The Consolidated Research Unit of Ion Channels and Vascular Pathophysiology of the Universidad de Valladolid  (http://www.vsmcgroup.uva.es/UIC/index.html) currently has a postdoctoral position open for candidates with doctoral degrees.

Our group has a strong background (of more than 20 years) in ion channel electrophysiology, exploring both structure-function relationships and functional modulation of ion channel function, and is internationally recognized in the field. Our research interests are focused in the analysis of the contribution of ion channels to several prevalent vascular diseases (essential hypertension, intimal hyperplasia) using electrophysiological and molecular biology techniques together with a large number of functional approaches, both in heterologous systems, native cells, organs and in vivo in animal models of vascular disease

The candidate will be involved in a project entitled Kv1.3 channels as new therapeutical targets for the prevention of macrovascular complications in diabetes: A multidisciplinary approach “.

Candidates should possess a demonstrated background in the ion channel field. Experience in microfluorometry studies in single cells, myography experiments in small vessels and in image techniques is highly desirable. The position is funded by a project of the Junta de Castilla y León and funding is available for a period of 2 years, starting between March-May 2021. Applications including a cover letter, a CV with a list of publications, technical expertise and the names and contact details of at least two personal references should be sent by email to Drs. José Ramón López López (jrlopez@ibgm.uva.es) or M. Teresa Pérez García (tperez@ibgm.uva.es) before the 21st of December.
