Project

The Metabolism and Nutrition Research Group, LDRI, Université catholique de Louvain (UCLouvain), Belgium, is looking for a Postdoctoral fellow to join the team of Prof Amandine Everard. The candidate will investigate the impact of gut microbes on behavioural and appetite disorders associated with obesity. This project will involve in vivo experiments, with metabolomics and proteomics analyses.

Profile

The candidate holds a PhD in Biological/Medical Sciences, Molecular/Cellular Biology, Biochemistry or equivalent for less than 6 years, with a trackable experience in mouse experimentation and knowledge in gut-to-brain axis, ideally in food intake or reward/hedonic system. Expertise in -omics data analyses as well as knowledge in R and biostatistics, will be considered as a plus.

A good command of English (spoken and written), excellent communication skills, and ability to perform and analyze experiments independently as well as in a team, are necessary. The candidate is considered in international mobility, i.e. she/he has not resided, studied or worked in Belgium for more than 24 months over the past 6 years before the start of the post-doc.

The candidate will benefit from 9 months full time contract. The contract will start as soon as possible (early 2020), and may be extended up to 21 months, depending on performance.
