Postdoctoral fellow position in Rome (Italy)

One postdoctoral fellow position, two years lasting, is available in the laboratory of Dr Silvia Marinelli at the European Brain Research Institute in Rome (Italy), to study microglia to neuron communication mechanisms in the formation and consolidation of synaptic memory engrams. This study belongs to the recently funded project “Synaptic Engrams in memory formation and recall” and will in part be carried out in collaboration with the lab of Antonino Cattaneo at Scuola Normale Superiore (Pisa).

The general aim of the project is the probing of synaptic engrams, in the context of the quadripartite synapse (synapse, astrocyte and microglia) by exploiting SynActive, a new method to selectively tag potentiated synapses.

The successful candidate holding a Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D will show proven experience in electrophysiology in addition to a strong scientific motivation and the ability to work in a research team. Experience in confocal microscopy and image processing would be an advantage.

Enquiries and expression of interest in the position, including a motivation letter, curriculum vitae and names of 2 referees, should be sent to
