Dopamine, behavioral flexibility, and addiction to dopamine replacement therapy in Parkinson’s disease.

The goal of the project is to investigate dopamine-dependent network mechanisms underlying behavioral flexibility as well as the predictive value of behavioral flexibility and other endophenotypes to the development of an addiction to dopamine replacement therapy in individuals with dopaminergic neurodegeneration. The project will combine behavioral, electrophysiological, and post-mortem investigations to identify neural circuits, cellular and molecular mechanisms.

Candidates must hold a PhD in biological sciences or neuroscience. Significant experience with behavioral analysis in rodents and/or in vivo electrophysiology is required. Experience with stereotaxic surgery and post-mortem analysis (immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, image analysis) is desired. Experience with in vivo photometry would be an asset.
