Postdoctoral position Baltimore (USA): extracellular vesicles and neurodegeneration

The National Institute on Aging (NIA), a major research component of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), is recruiting for a Postdoctoral Fellow position in the Human Neuroscience Section (HNS) of the Laboratory of Clinical Investigation (LCI) in Baltimore, MD.

Requirement: The candidates should have a Ph.D. degree in Neuroscience, Molecular Biology or related fields. Alternatively, we will consider M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. candidates that have completed residency training in Neurology or prior to residency training, with a demonstrated track record in Neuroscience research. The candidates will participate in basic and translational research focused on the role of Extracellular Vesicles (EVs) in Alzheimer’s disease and other neurodegenerative diseases. They should have experience with various Molecular Biology techniques (ELISA, WB, PCR, microscopy, FACS, potentially also involving cellular cultures, hIPSCs, and animal models), and an interest in the mechanisms underlying Neurodegenerative diseases and the role of EVs in their pathogenesis. Postdoctoral Fellows will be expected to further ongoing EV biomarker discovery and validation studies, design and conduct mechanistic studies to determine the underlying biology involving EVs, and pursue therapeutic directions.
