Summary:
A research position (open rank) is available immediately to join the laboratory of Dr. D. James Surmeier and an interdisciplinary, well-funded group to pursue the brain circuitry underlying Parkinson’s disease.
The Surmeier lab is using a variety of approaches to conduct high impact work in this area.
The Surmeier lab is located on the Chicago campus of Northwestern University (USA), which is situated in a vibrant international community near Lake Michigan and downtown Chicago.
Requirement:
Applicants should have expertise with electrophysiological approaches in ex vivo brain preparations. There will be an opportunity to train in complementary methods, including optogenetics, chemogenetics, and two-photon imaging.
