Molecular and Circuit Mechanisms Mediating Long-Term Memory Storage
A postdoctoral position is immediately available for a motivated individual to join a dynamic multidisciplinary research team to study non-coding RNAs, synaptic plasticity, and memory storage. The successful candidate will be studying molecular, cellular, and circuit mechanisms underlying long-term memory storage in the mouse hippocampus and prefrontal cortex. The position is in the Puthanveettil Laboratory, Department of Neuroscience (www.scripps.edu/puthanveettil), at the Scripps Research Institute campus, Jupiter, Florida.

Badal et al., Cell Reports (2019); Swarnkar et al., Scientific Reports (2018), Raveendra et al., PNAS (2018) and Rizzo et al., Biological Psychiatry CNNI (2017).
Candidates should have a Ph.D. and be able to work interactively in a
highly collaborative research environment. Candidates are expected to have strong cell biology and behavior neuroscience background. Experience in stereotaxic injections, cannula placements, viral-mediated gene manipulation, and imaging are highly preferred. Competitive candidates will have one or more first-author manuscripts accepted or published in internationally recognized peer- reviewed journals. This position is open for two years with the potential for further
extension. The National Institutes of Health fund this project.

facilities for imaging, genomics, proteomics, biochemistry and rodent behavior assays. The infrastructure at Scripps Florida includes unique chemical, genomic, proteomic, informatics, and high-throughput screening tools for the discovery of novel biomolecules.
