Postdoc position in human brain imaging


We are opening a position for an outstanding and advanced post-doctoral researcher with interest in brain imaging techniques, particularly fMRI, to conduct innovative work in cognitive and/or affective functions in humans. Our lab is particularly interested in vision, attention, and emotion in both health and disease.

The successful candidate will be part of the Laboratory of Behavioral Neurology and Imaging of Cognition (LABNIC) at the Neuroscience Dept of University of Geneva Medical School Geneva (, and located at the newly established Campus Biotech of Geneva ( – a highly multidisciplinary site bringing together neuroscientists, engineers, and clinical researchers from several academic institutions in the Geneva Lake area (UNIGE, HUG, EPFL). The candidate will have access to state-of-the-art platforms including two 3T and one 7T MRI scanners, as well as a new MEG system, advanced EEG and TMS tools with MRI compatibility, and innovative VR facilities fully dedicated to neuroscience research. There will be multiple opportunities to exchange and collaborate with colleagues within and outside the lab, with strong involvement in activities of the Center for Biomedical Imaging ( that coordinates high-end imaging platforms across sites in Geneva and Lausanne. A contribution to teaching activity (master and doctoral neuroscience programs) will be appreciated but optional. The position is available immediately and applications will remain open until it is filled. The contract is initially planned for one year but is likely to be extended in case the initiated projects are successful. The salary for advanced postdoc researcher in Switzerland is highly competitive relative to international standards and will be adjusted depending on past experience. Geneva city is a highly international city with rich cultural and outdoor activities, with a strong and vibrant community of researchers in brain sciences at large.

Ideally, the candidate will already have several years of experience working in the field and be interested to embrace new high-risk/high-impact research on a new 7T MRI platform installed in our center.

The candidate should be able to develop new independent projects, and willing to contribute to ongoing research in our group in collaboration with other researchers.

A solid background in neuroimaging with strong methodological skills, statistics, and network analysis is highly desirable.
