The Alzheimer & Tauopathies team of the Lille Neuroscience & Cognition Center is looking for an engineer (ingénieur d’études or IE) in neurobiology with experience in animal experiments (rodent).
LiLNCog is a research center dedicated to neurological diseases, mental health and neuroendocrinology, marked by interdisciplinarity. The Alzheimer & Tauopathies team is particularly interested in
mechanisms of Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders, called Tauopathies, from basic research to biomedical application.
The IE will be mainly assigned to David Blum’s group whose projects focus on the role of tau protein in brain and synaptic homeostasis.
The applicant will work independently on the link between energy metabolism and Alzheimer’s disease and in particular on the role of the tau protein and Alzheimer’s disease. He/she will be responsible for the preparation, the realization and analysis of experimental protocols in mouse models and will ensure the phenotypic evaluation on the
phenotypic, metabolic/behavioral, histological, biochemical and molecular evaluation.
The engineer will also be recruited to support other projects within the group. The work will will be carried out under the direct scientific responsibility of Drs. David Blum and Emilie Faivre.
Duration: 13 months with possibility of renewal

Requirements
The candidate must have a Master’s degree (preferably with a biomedical or scientific orientation) and, preferably, to have an ability to carry out procedures in animal experimentation (ex level II) and possibly to perform surgery on rodents.
The metabolic monitoring of animals may require in some experimental protocols a daily control of animal welfare and daily monitoring of animal welfare and evaluations during weekends.
