Assistant engineer in neurobiology (IMN, Bordeaux, 10 months)

Information

We are looking for a biologist assistant engineer (AE) to take part in various research projects in the Purinergic-mediated inflammation and brain disorders team at IMN (Institut des Maladies Neurodégénératives, CNRS UMR-5293). The team is particularly interested in purinergic signalling and inflammation in several pathologies such as ALS, chronic pain and anxiety.

The AE will use immunohistology techniques (double or triple immunofluorescence on tissue sections and cells in culture) using various tissues from murine models. He/she will acquire images, analyse the results and take part in experiments and monitor the animals’ motor behaviour. The AE will work in synergy with students and other engineers. He/she will format the results and report directly to the team leader. The assistant engineer will also contribute to the management of stocks and orders and to the team’s shared tasks.

Start: September 2023
End: June/July 2024

Profile

Master’s degree or equivalent.
Knowledge/training in neuroscience.
Skills and experience in immunohistology and cell biology are required. Animal experimentation skills and authorisation to experiment would be a distinct advantage. Ability to interact and work as part of a team. Ability to communicate.
